The Franklin Fountain Engraved Zeroll Scoop

The famous Zeroll scoop was patented in 1935 by Sherman Kelly of Toledo, Ohio. It represented a truly modern innovation over earlier mechanical designs by containing a liquid inside the handle to warm the ice cream whilst scooping. The beauty and simplicity of the Zeroll's efficient design has remained unchanged after 70 years. Today, the Museum of Modern Art includes a Zeroll in their permanent design collection.
